This is the plain-English version of sections 4, 5 and 9 to 12 of the Terms and Conditions. Where the two differ, the Terms and Conditions apply.

You are responsible for what you build with it

gomodl helps you model steel and produce drawings and fabrication files. It does not take any responsibility for them. Everything the Service produces — models, drawings, dimensions, marks, quantities, NC1 files, DXF, PDF, SVG and IFC files — must be checked by a competent person against the engineer’s design before anyone approves, orders, cuts, drills, fabricates or erects anything from it. If it is wrong and nobody checked it, that is not on us.

It is not structural design software

gomodl does not check strength, stability, connection capacity or code compliance. A connection macro builds the plates, bolts and welds you configure; it does not tell you whether they are enough. The AI assistant can misread a schedule or a sketch, and you confirm everything it proposes. Imported files can come in incomplete or wrong. The design, and the responsibility for it, stays with the engineer of record and with you.

Use it as intended

gomodl is built for structural steel detailing on small and medium jobs, within the model size limits and the section and connection types it supports. Using it for anything else, beyond those limits, or in a way it was not designed for, is entirely at your own risk.

Zero liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GoModl accepts no liability at all for any loss or damage of any kind arising from the Service — whether the Service was used correctly, incorrectly, or outside its intended scope. That covers, among other things, wrong steel, scrap and rework, site delays and damages claims, lost profit or business, lost or corrupted data, and reliance on AI output or imported data. If a court ever decides we are liable despite this, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months, which is nothing on a free account.

The law does not allow anyone to exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here tries to.

No service level agreement

We do not offer a service level agreement at this stage. There is no guaranteed uptime, availability, performance, support response, backup or data recovery. The Service can be down, slow, changed or withdrawn without notice, and data can be lost. Keep your own copies: download your model as IFC and save the files you issue.

Provided as is

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or being free of errors.
